PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter which sufficiently responds to reduction in size and weight and to large capacity using a shunt resistor for current detection. SOLUTION: The switching elements 4E, 6E with multi-emitter are used as a part of the switching element of an inverter main circuit, shut-resistors 104U, 106W for current detection are provided to these multi-electrodes and a voltage drop appearing on these shunt-resistors 104U, 106W is detected with load current detecting circuits 116U, 118W to detect a current of an arm. As a result, the power of the shut-resistors 104U, 106W can be reduced considerably in comparison with an arm current to be detected. |
