The manipulator has a carriage (4) displaced along a linear carriage guide (6) via a spindle drive (8,10), coupled to an electric setting motor (16). The carriage and the body (2) of the manipulator are provided with a cooperating source (36) and sensor (32) for accurate detection of the carriage position, for feedback regulation of the electric setting motor.
