The arrangement has a surface (42) illuminated by the light beam with at least one region (50,54) in which the light/dark boundary (84-86) must lie. The boundary can be positioned within this region by adjusting only one of the two adjusters for the boundary, one for vertical and one for horizontal adjustment, since the vertical adjuster also adjusts horizontally and the horizontal adjuster also adjusts vertically. An Independent claim is also included for a method of aligning and fitting a headlamp to a motor vehicle part.
