PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working tool positioning method and a working position display method for machine tools that can establish a man-machine interface that operators accustomed to NC programs can use easily in operating machine tools using two driving links. SOLUTION: A machine tool determines a working position (X1, Y1) depending on the telescoping levels (a) and (b) of its first and second driving links. The input of an x- and y-coordinate values indicative of the working position (X1, Y1) into the machine tool provides required telescoping levels (a) and (b), whereupon both first and second driving links are telescoped.
