<p>PURPOSE: A gas vent device in a fuel tank is provided to save fuel by preventing fuel leakage during a fuel injection and to prevent fuel leakage from an exhaust pipe caused by a collision. CONSTITUTION: A fuel injecting pipe(20) is installed in the upper portion of a fuel tank(10) and a vent pipe(30) is placed in the upper space of the fuel tank. The vent pipe is connected to a vent valve(40). The vent valve contains a housing(41) in the bottom of an upper panel(11) of the fuel tank; a valve body(42) inserted into the fuel tank; a spacer rubber(43) placed between the upper panel and an upper end flange(42a) of the valve body; and a screw fixing the flange, the upper panel and the housing together. A packing(45) is placed between the circumference of the upper panel and the flange and an inlet hole(42b) is formed in the lower center of the valve body. An outlet hole(42c) is formed on the upper circumference of the valve body. A float valve(47) is installed in the lower portion of the valve body and an orifice(48) is formed in the middle of the valve body. Further, an O-ring(49) and a passage(50) are formed between the valve body and the housing. Then, the vent pipe is penetrated through the housing to exhaust volatile gas through the inlet hole of the vent valve, an interval between the float valve and the housing, the orifice, the outlet hole and the vent pipe.</p> |
