A crop-engaging tine-assembly for a haymaking machine comprises a block 14 of elastomer and a rigid rake tine 32 of non- elastomeric material having a pear-shaped head 34 embedded in the block, with its small-diameter end towards the part 16 of the block which it attachable to the tinebar 10 and with its larger-diameter end merging into the stem 38 of the tine. The tine-bar 10 is hollow and the tine assembly is fastened thereto by a bolt 24 passing through holes in the bar and in a stirrup 18 partly embedded in the block 14. The tine 32 is cranked at its lower end 36.
