PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator which is provided at the ventilation port of a wall face or the like, and opens and closes automatically, and in which the full opening and full closing can be performed simply and quickly by hand, and besides the confirmation of the automatic and manual opening and closing can be performed simply. SOLUTION: This ventilator bas a duct base 1, an outer frame 2 which is attached to the duct base 1 and fixes a piston 61, a slit door 4 which is fixed to a piston cylinder part and has a slide plate and a slit-shaped groove part 41, and a shut cover 5, and for the slit-shaped groove part 31 of the slide plate and the slit-shaped groove part 41 of the slit door 4, both slit-shaped groove holes are arranged alternately to interrupt the inflow of the air in the case that a thermoelement 6 senses cold air in condition that the slit door 4 is attached to the outer frame 2, and the fellow slit-shaped groove holes are arranged to oppose each other to pass the air in case that the thermoelement 6 senses warm air.
