PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve problems of narrowing the width of electrodes and interval between them accompanying high-resolution in a flat plasma discharge display device, and to drive a high-brightness display without using a complex signal processing circuit and without of image deterioration. SOLUTION: A first electrode group 11 and a second electrode electrodes 12 respectively formed by arranging plural electrodes flatways are arranged crosswise on a common substrate 1 through an insulating layer 14. Discharge electrode parts IY opposite and common to the electrode pairs are arranged between the respective adjacent paired electrodes X of the first electrode group 11. Then, plasma discharge parts are formed to the opposite parts of the discharge electrode parts IY and the opposite paired electrodes X.
