PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compact the device dimension by shortening the length of a main shaft. SOLUTION: A switch operating device is equipped with a main shaft 2 rotated to put on and off a switch, lock holes 3 and 4 formed through the main shaft 2 perpendicularly and admitting insertion of an electric interlock pin 12 and a mechanical interlock pin 15 to lock the rotation of the main shaft 2, and a ridge 35 provided protrusively on the main shaft 2 having the identical circumference to the lock holes 3 and 4 and coupled by insertion of the forefront 36 of an operating handle 18.
