PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody exact range finding by not only merely changing over an active system and a passive system but applying correction by verifying the deterioration in the accuracy of a first range finding system by another range finding system even if the one range finding system is assumed to have such deterioration in a heavy environment. SOLUTION: The range finder of a triangulation type for executing the range finding of a subject by the principle of triangular range finding includes a first range finding section 101 having a first base line, a second range finding section 102 having a second base line shorter than the first base line and a comparative correction computing section 100 for correcting the range finding result of the second range finding section 102 in accordance with the range finding results of the first range finding section 101 and the second range finding section 102 for the same object. |
