PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wasteful power consumption of a thermally actuated value while a hot-water heating apparatus is operated for heating by turning on/off the energization of the thermally actuated valve at prescribed turning-on/off time intervals during the period in which a heating operation request is transmitted. SOLUTION: When the operation switch of a terminal 6 for hot-water heating is turned on, the turning-on is transmitted to a heat source apparatus 1 for hot-water heating through a signal line 8 and the machine 1 starts heating combustion in such a way that hot water is circulated by actuating a circulating pump 4. When the heating combustion is started, the heater of a thermally actuated valve 9 is energized and a thermo-pellet heated by heater expands and drives the valve plug of the valve 9. As a result, the valve 9 is opened. The energization of the valve 9 is continued for a sufficient period of time T0 until the valve 9 is fully opened after the energization is started. After the time T0 has elapsed, the energization of the valve 9 is stopped. However, the flow rate of the hot water flowing through a hot-water circulating passage 2 does not change immediately, because it takes time until the temperature of the thermo-pellet drops. After waiting by a period of time during which the reduction of the valve travel of the valve 9 does not affect the flow rate of the hot water, the thermally actuated valve 9 is again energized. The time T2 for full opening of the valve travel can be set shorter than the time T0 due to the heat left at the time of starting the heating and the hot water.
