One end (31) of the intake duct (4) has an additional fixed flow passage (32) in the walls formed by the stationary plastics bodies forming the intake duct and the housing parts (7,8). These flow passages issue in a common connecting channel (33) or in groups into several connecting channels (33,34). Thus each intake cylinder draws combustion air in through the fixed passages (32) and also through the intake duct of the presently idle cylinder and the connecting channels.
