PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a bamboo grass feed good in digestion even in an animal having a short alimentary canal such as a chicken and capable of stably absorbing active ingredients of bamboo grass. SOLUTION: This bamboo grass feed contains a leaf and/or a stem of bamboo grass belonging to the genus Sasa of the family Gramineae obtained by presubstituting magnesium ions of a chlorophyll compound contained in the leaf and/or stem of the bamboo grass belonging to the genus Sasa of the family Gramineae with metal ions having a complex ability or conducting hydrolyzing treatment of the leaf and/or the stem of the bamboo grass in which the substitution with the metal ions is not carried out with an alkali.
