PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof opening/closing device provided with an equalizing function, which is compactly constituted so as to be easily housed in a limitted space and in which the tension of two wire ropes can be adjusted and a winch does not immediately lose the loading capacity even if one wire rope is cut off. SOLUTION: This roof is opened or closed by simultaneously winding up two wire ropes 3a, 3b anchord to a movable roof 7 at the ends of the wire ropes 3a, 3b. A balance-shaped lever 9 is swingably pivoted in the movable roof 7 and the ends of the two wire ropes 3a, 3b are fixed to both ends of the lever 9, and a lever stopper restricting the swinging motion of the lever 9 is provided near to the lever 9.
