PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability and the degree of freedom for the design of a center pillar using an extrusion molded product. SOLUTION: This center pillar is divided into upper and lower members 2 and 3. The upper member 2 is arranged inside the direction of the width of a car body based on the lower member 3 and welded and coupled to the lower member 3 with the upper member 2 inclined rearward in the longitudinal direction of the car body. The upper end part of the lower member 3 is obliquely cut off outwardly in the direction of the car width and downward, and the upper end part of a reinforcing plate 6 to reinforce a coupling state between the lower member 3 and a side sill 5 is extended to the upper member 2 and coupled to the upper member 2. Thus, a shape inherent to the center pillar that the lower part situated downward from a waist line is positioned outside in the direction of the width of the car body and the upper part is positioned inside in the direction of the width of the car body is easily formed. The upper end part of the lower member 3 is obliquely cut and centralization of the stress of a coupled part formed through welding is prevented from occurring and further, and frame structure using an extrusion material is provided without any problem.
