PURPOSE: A digital echo circuit is provided to revitalize the distortion due to the recording of analog tape recorded echo by adding the distortion component to the echo and to revitalize the flutter and wow of the echo by adding the fluctuation component to the echo. CONSTITUTION: A circuit comprises an amplifier(12, 20), an adding medium(14), a digital delay circuit(16), an equalizer(18), a returning loop(22), a digital signal managing circuit(28), a squaring circuit(30), and a level transfer circuit(32). The amplifier(12) adds input advantage to the digital signal. The digital signal is input to the distortion-adding block through the adding medium(14). The delay time of the digital delay circuit(16) is transferred to adequate frequency and the fluctuation component which is copied from the wow and flutter component of the tape analog echo is added. the output characteristic of the digital delay circuit is corrected by the equalizer(18). The returning advantage is added to the corrected output data by the amplifier(20).
