MODIFIED ALUMINIUM OXY COMPOUND, POLYMERIZATION CATALYST AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING OLEFIN POLYMER AND ALKENYL AROMATIC HYDROCARBON POLYMER

PURPOSE: A modified aluminum oxy compound, a polymerization catalyst and a process for producing an olefin polymer and an alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer are described which can produce the polyolefin with high catalytic activity in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A modified aluminum oxy compound (A) obtained by reacting (a) an aluminum oxy compound, (b) water and (c) a compound having a hydroxyl group; a polymerization catalyst component comprising the modified aluminum oxy compound (A); a polymerization catalyst obtained by contacting the modified aluminum oxy compound (A), a transition metal compound (B) and optionally an oregano aluminum compound (C) and a specified boron compound are described. Also described is a process for producing an olefin polymer or an alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer using the polymerization catalyst.
