PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary washing device capable of thermotherapy. SOLUTION: A sanitary washing device is formed such that wash water supplied from a water main is heated and ejected from a nozzle. When a heating mode is designated through a characteristic operation differing from that for normal washing, the wash water is heated to a higher temperature of 40 to 45 deg.C than for normal washing and ejected toward human private parts. In order to enable heating to that temperature, flow rate and the amount of air bubbles entrained are controlled according to heater capability. A process for canceling the designation of the heating mode under predetermined conditions is provided. The heating mode is canceled, e.g. when washing is switched to bidet washing or when a user leaves a toilet seat. This enhances the functions of the sanitary washing device while keeping users from feeling great discomfort due to ejection of the wash water of unexpectedly high temperature during the normal washing.
