PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to obtain a display screen of a high quality by a simple configuration. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display device, a liquid crystal panel(1) has a plurality of common electrodes(2U,2L) and a plurality of segment electrodes(3), and supplies a driving voltage to a liquid crystal material at intersections of the common electrodes and the segment electrodes. The liquid crystal panel is divided into a first screen and a second screen according to a predetermined number of common electrodes. A common electrode driving part(5U,5L) selects common electrodes of the first screen and common electrodes of the second screen by one line at the same time, and sequentially selects the common electrodes according to each screen. A calculation circuit(13) calculates segment voltage levels supplied to the segment electrodes on the basis of data to the first and second screens, a common signal to a selected common electrode of the first screen, and a common signal to a selected common electrode of the second screen. A segment driver(15) supplies a segment voltage to each segment electrode on the basis of the calculation result.
