PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production intermediate usable for a method of chemically producing anticancer antibiotic MI43-37F11. SOLUTION: This production intermediate of antibiotic MI43-37F11 is a compound represented by the formula (wherein, R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; and L2 is a halogen atom). The antibiotic MI43-37F11 is produced by reacting the compound, or the product obtained after alkylating the compound, with a compound of the general formula, R3 COOX (R3 is hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; and X is hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or an organic base), and hydrolyzing the product.
