PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the pressure of ink filling a pressure chamber for applying pressure to ink without increasing the driving voltage of a piezoelectric element by arranging a spacer made of a substance, e.g. glass or ceramics, exhibiting a lower compression rate than ink in the pressure chamber. SOLUTION: Grooves 31, 32, 33 and barrier walls 51, 52 for defining a plurality of pressure chambers 92 are formed on a substrate 1 of piezoelectric material and the upper end face of the barrier walls 51, 52 is bonded to a cover 6 through an elastic member 9. The grooves 31, 32, 33 of each pressure chamber 92 open to one end face of the substrate 1 fixed with a nozzle plate having ejection holes 61-63 corresponding to the grooves 31-33 such that the openings are closed. Furthermore, a glass spacer 95 is arranged in each pressure chamber 92 at such dimensions as causing a slight rattling and remaining gaps are filled with ink thus ejecting ink from each ejection hole 61-63.
