PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermometer which speedily reaches a temperature to be measured. SOLUTION: The digital thermometer has a sensing chip integral with a heater, a display 7 and a microcontroller 8. The microcontroller 8 samples during a rise time and proportionally drives the heater to raise a temperature of the sensing chip in a switch control sequence including an allowance after heating. In consequence, additional heating to the sensing chip is eliminated and the thermometer reaches quickly to a stable temperature.
