PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase energy density and improve life characteristic by directly carrying a metal oxide particle on the surface of a separator. SOLUTION: A metal oxide particle individually has high hydrophilicity, and carrying this on the surface of a separator can extremely improve liquid holding property of the separator. When that having good alkali resistance particularly at high temperature, of the metal oxides, high temperature life characteristic is further improved. Such metal oxide particle containing one or more kinds of titanium oxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, potassium titanate, tungsten oxide, zinc oxide is preferred, in particular, anatase-type TiO2 is especially suitable. In addition, preferably, grain size of the metal oxide particle is 0.01-0.1 μm, and a carrying amount is 0.1-20 wt.% for the separator. |
