PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit designation of a parameter for an image read device for each execution of image reading when plural clients use the image read device in common use on a network by controlling an image read means with a set read parameter to execute image reading. SOLUTION: Characters and an image displayed on a screen of a CRT: 1a are expanded and stored in a VRAM: 1b and a bit move user 1c controls transfer of data between memories and between a memory and each device. Furthermore, a CPU: 1f controls each section based on a control program stored in a ROM: 1g. Then a network interface 1l controls and diagnoses data on the network for transfer of the data via a network and the communication with a printer or an image reader shared in common on the network is conducted via the network interface 1l. An image reader 1n is essential to an image read server device and a client device can use common resources of the server via the interface 1l.
