摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the picture quality by reducing noise generated in the process of converting video signals into R, G and B digital signals and preventing the flickering of dots in a low gradation display. SOLUTION: A noise reduction signal processing block is provided with a register 6, which temporarily stores present frame data, registers 61, 62 and 63, which temporarily store passed frame data, an adder 7, which adds these data, a multiplier 3, which computes the average value of the added data, a RAM 15, which stores passed frame data, a CPU 10, a frame counter 9, a line counter 12 and a dot counter 11. In other words, the device is provided with a low gradation data discriminating means which discriminates whether low gradation data that are required for signal processing exist in the R, G and B digital data inputted to a display signal transmitting means or not, and a signal processing means, which conducts a signal processing using the method that computes the average values of the low gradation data for every specific frame against the low gradation data based on the discrimination result and updates the data for every few frames. Thus, dot flickering is reduced without considerably changing original video signals and a high quality video display can be realized at a low cost.
