A plate (5) in the top of the device comprises a first half section (5a) whose free end can be supported and fixed into position by a first pair of legs (1,2), and a second half section (5b) for supporting the cask (6), the two half sections being pivotably connected at the plate midpoint. The stand for supporting the plate is formed by two pairs of legs (1-4), one pair being connected to the other by struts containing an articulated joint to enable them be swung through an angle of between 40-60 degrees.
