The invention relates to a device to be used in a laboratory for measuring t he viscosity of plastic materials, especially of molten polymers, according to the principle of determining the drop in pressure when the material is flowi ng through a capillary having a defined cross-section and a defined length. A device of this type can particularly be used for carrying out continuous measurements during operation, especially in integrated quality control. To this end, a volumetrically controllable molten material pump (13) which is provided for producing a defined flow of molten material is incorporated in a device that can be heated.
