PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregular discoloration of a package due to the heat of steam sterilization by supporting the package so that only parts of at least its two opposite side-edge are contacted but its side faces are not contacted. SOLUTION: A tray support 100 is comprised of a frame base 102, shoulders 104 extended vertically from the frame base 102, and package support members 110 extended horizontally between the shoulders 104 and separated horizontally from each other with a distance Y between them. Additional support membes 120 extended vertically are arranged at intervals along the members 110 so that a package 10 does not horizontally slip out between the members. And in order to ensure the contact of only the bottom side-edges of the package 10 with the support members 110, it is preferable that the cross-section of each member 110 be in the shape of a diamond. Likewise, it is preferable that the members 120 each also have a cross-section of a diamond shape having four facets and contact the corner side-edges 40, 42, 44, and 46 of the package 10 at approximately 45 deg.. |
