摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size in an axial direction of a transmission by shortening a drum fastened by a brake hand and to reduce a twist force applied on a drum. SOLUTION: One end of a drum 137 is securely welded through a ring member 133 to the outer periphery of the rise part 132 of a hub 131 rotatably supported on a rotary shaft 110. The outer peripheral surface of a drum 137 is fastened by brake hands 151 (151a-151c), and a friction plate 144 is engaged with the spline of an inner peripheral surface. A ring member 133 has an axially extending protrusion part 135 in which a space S is formed between a coupling part with a rise part and the inner peripheral surface of the drum 137. The protrusion part 135 forms a cylinder to contain a piston 147 to press the friction plate. An oil hole 153a opened to a space is formed in the drum 137, and the brake bands 151 (151a-151c) are arranged in a state to be axially overlapped with the slide surface of the piston of the cylinder. This constitution arranges the brake band closer to the ring member side and shortens the length of the drum.</p>
