PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute the refurnishing or repair of an outer wall even in a building having close housing by using a substrate furring strip comprising a vertical member, a corner auxiliary member, an opening member and an eave soffit member. SOLUTION: A substrate furring strip 10 is composed of a vertical member 20, a corner auxiliary member, an opening member and an eave soffit member. The vertical member 20 is attached at the module position or the half-module position of an existing dwelling, the corner auxiliary member is attached to a corner part, the opening member is attached to an opening part, and the eave soffit member is attached to the lower part of an eave soffit. Thereafter, substrate materials for refurnishing or repair 60, 60 and an outer wall material are attached to the substrate furring strip 10. Thus, the substrate material for the refurnishing or repair can be provided even at a part having no substrate material of an existing outer wall, and can easily cope with an open method.
