PURPOSE: A scan converter circuit is provided to convert interlaced scanning field data into progressive scanning frame data by detecting a motion of a video, by using an intra-interpolation method in case that a motion is big, and by using an inter-interpolation method in case that there's no motion. CONSTITUTION: Field memories(11,12,13) respectively store a previous field, a present field and a posterior filed. A subtraction unit(20) delays data outputted from each filed(11,12,13) as the unit of a pixel and calculates a difference between pixel data. A filter unit(30) filters an output of the subtraction unit(20). A motion detection unit(40) compares the value filtered by the filter unit(30) with a threshold. An interpolation unit(50) selects one among interpolation methods setup according to a result of the motion detection unit(40).
