APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE TRAFFIC OF PROTOCOL CONVERSION EQUIPMENTS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling traffic in a protocol conversion equipment is provided to reduce loss of data and re-transmission request generated due to limited bandwidth of wide band communication network. CONSTITUTION: A transfer waiting table is for stores destination addresses, request bandwidth, delay time after registration, transmission attempt numbers and so on for service terminals requesting data transfer. A transmitting band assignment table is for registering the destination addresses and the assigned transmitting bandwidth for the service terminals. A receiving band assignment table is for registering the destination addresses and the assigned receiving bandwidth for the service terminals which response to the request of the transmitting band assignment.
