Apparatus for conducting electrical surveys in selectable survey modes and for data collection, comprises at least one analogue voltage input connection for the input of an analogue voltage signal representing data to be collected and connected to an analogue to digital (A/D) converter for converting the analogue voltage signal to digital form. Control means internally controls the apparatus to perform a selected survey mode in accordance with a series of instructions stored in a memory. The memory contains the instructions for the control means for each of the selectable survey modes and also for the storage of survey data including said voltage input signal. A keyboard is provided for operation by an operator to select the survey mode and to control the input of voltage signals to the memory means for survey modes enacted under operator supervision. A display is provided for displaying visual indications of the voltage signal and for visual display of prompts to the operator, under the control of the control means, the prompts forming part of the instructions contained in the memory for survey modes under operator supervision, and information channels are provided for the communication of survey data to external devices. <IMAGE> |
