PURPOSE: An apparatus for guiding a preferable program guide using a Korean broadcasting program system is provided to enable a viewer to view a preferable program by using a Korean broadcasting program system. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(10) tunes a program which a viewer selects and a program which the viewer registers. A signal processing unit(20) receives a video signal relevant to a program which the viewer is presently viewing among programs selected through the tuner(10), and processes the signal.. An on-screen display unit(30) displays the video signal on a monitor. A KBPS decoder(40) checks the program which the viewer registered using KBPS information. A microcomputer(50) controls the on-screen display unit(30) in case that the program decoded in the KPBS decoder(40) is started on a channel. The microcomputer(50) displays the program in a part of a screen.
