发明名称 MULTI-ANNULUS CATALYST COLUMN FOR ISOTOPE EXCHANGE BETWEEN HYDROGEN AND LIQUID WATER
摘要 PURPOSE: A catalytic tower for separation of isotopes, deuterium or tritium, using water exchange reaction is disclosed. Using multiple tubes in different size, the inside of the tubes plays a role for absorbing and the outside does for catalytic reaction. Due to the present of manifold tubes, the catalytic tower system reduced the reactor volume and simplifies its inner structure. CONSTITUTION: The catalytic tower system is mainly composed of an adsorbing layer (20), a gas flow line (13), and a catalytic layer (30). For the adsorbing layer (20), the upside contains a liquid distributor (21) and the downside does the respective supporter (22). A liquid flow hole (14) is installed for draining the liquid into the upside of the lower adsorbing layer. Hydrogen and steam flow upward and react in the catalytic layer (30) and flow down through the gas flow line (13) to feed the bottom part of the adsorbing layer. The gas-liquid exchange reaction occurs by the contact of the gas compositions in upward flow and the water in downward flow in the adsorbing layer (20). As an alternative arrangement, additional catalytic layer may be installed at between the catalytic layer (30) and the adsorbing layer (20) using a triple tube in different diameter. The catalyst for separation process of isotopes uses 0.8 wt% Pt supported on styrene-divinyl benzene polymer. A wire-mesh ring is used as the packing material for adsorbing layer (20).
