PURPOSE: A composition of an oxidation catalyst for NO is provided to efficiently oxidize NO in a dry processing and at low maintaining cost. CONSTITUTION: A slurry A is produced by mixing gamma-alumina powder 205.1g with 1.5% of acetylene acid to a gamma-alumina weight and giving 300g of H2O and is ball-milled so 90% of the slurry particle weight as to have 8 to 10 micrometer of a particle size. A slurry B is produced by mixing after giving a cobalt nitride 149.8g with cerium oxide 981.1g, is dried at 120°C for two hours and calcined at 500°C for two hours. A slurry C is produced by ball-milling so 90% of the slurry particle weight as to have 8 to 10 micrometer of a particle size by mixing ceria-cobalt oxide 101.5g with the slurry A, is given Fe/beta-zeolite 444g and is scattered for thirty minutes. Herein, the slurry C is coated in cordierite honeycomb core, is dried at 120 to 150°C for 20 minutes and is calcined at 500°C for 5 hours. Then, NO oxidation catalyst is completed by impregnating 0.2g of Pt by using chloroplatinic acid on a catalyst composition of a basic metal oxide coated on cordierite.
