The invention concerns a biochip reading device (10) comprising a plurality of molecular recognition zones and a plurality of optical positioning markers, associated with the recognition zones, the device comprising: an optical head (20) capable of projecting on the biochip an excitation light; means (14) and/or (24) for relative displacement of said head and said biochip; an optical analysis system (40), associated with the optical head for receiving a light capable of being derived from the recognition zones; an optical positioning system (60), associated with the optical head for receiving a light capable of being derived from at least one guide track and/or one positioning marker; and means (70) for automatically controlling the optical head scanning. The invention is applicable to biological and chemical analysis.
