PACKAGE FOR SAFE STORAGE OF ELECTROPHILIC FLUORINATING AGENT AND PACKAGING THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely hold an electrophilic fluorinating agent by holding the electrophilic fluorinating agent and a solvent having the compatibility with the above fluorinating agent in a vessel having a sealable orifice and capable of holding the fluorinating agent and the solvent in the liquid phase under ambient conditions and providing the amount of the solvent sufficient to absorb heat of decomposition of the fluorinating agent. SOLUTION: The following requirements (A) to (C) are included in order to safely store, transport and deliver a quaternary electrophilic fluorinating agent e.g. 1-chloromethyl-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate)}. (A) a vessel having at least one sealable orifice and capable of holding the above quaternary electrophilic fluorinating agent and a solvent (e.g. water) in a liquid phase under ambient conditions (>=50 deg.C and <=100 psia pressure), (B) a prescribed amount of the above quaternary electrophilic fluorinating agent and (C) the solvent having compatibility with the above quaternary electrophilic fluorinating agent in an amount sufficient to absorb heat of decomposition of the prescribed amount of the above quaternary electrophilic fluorinating agent.
