PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a solenoid at equivalent shutter acceleration and to optimize the shutter acceleration by providing an image shifting mechanism or the like to cause two-dimensionally shifting only for a prescribed amount by driving the solenoid, and controlling the solenoid with at least two kinds of drive currents, based on a solenoid drive control signal from a control circuit. SOLUTION: An image pickup lens 1 converges the light from image picked up image from an object through a mechanical shutter 2 and an image shift mechanism 3 to a solid-state imaging device 4. An op photoelectric converted analog image signal from the solid-state image pickup device 4 is digitized and recorded later in an image memory 6 as digital image data. The image shift mechanism 3 performs image shifting of light incident to the solid-state imaging device 4 with a solenoid driving circuit 9 which is the solenoid of a component. An OFD control circuit 10 controls the storage/discharge of electric charges of the solid-state image pickup device 4 due to image pickup light and adjusts the light exposure amount of the solid-state imaging device 4.
