PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent trouble such as a rated value for an indoor unit constituent part is exceeded or the like, and a compressor stoppage from occurring, by switching the control method for a current limited time and a normal time for a feed-back control wherein a frequency of the compressor is adjusted by a DC voltage to be fed to a motor and duty on time for stopping a compressor. SOLUTION: In an electronic control device 3, a driving circuit to turn on a compressor driving element 2 is constituted of a microcomputer or the like. Also, an overall current detecting circuit 5 is provided for an outdoor unit. In order to overcome inconveniences in the outdoor unit such as exceeding its rated value and breaker tripping when the overall current increases, two functions are included therein for limiting current value. That is, a frequency of compressor is regulated at its maximum level when the overall current of the air conditioner exceeds a specified value in the outdoor unit, and the compressor is stopped for caution's sake if the overall current is further increased over the specified level. In addition to these functions, a compressor frequency detecting circuit is provided as well. |
