PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head in which integration of a nozzle can be achieved, while the short life of the head and the decrease in a piezoelectric constant are controlled, and further provide a method for manufacturing the ink jet head. SOLUTION: On one face of a substrate with a pressure chamber, a piezoelectric element having a vibration plate 3 for discharging ink, and a piezoelectric body of a perovskite crystalline structure are formed, on the other face of the substrate, an ink flow path is provided, the substrate is constituted of a photosensitive glass substrate 1 which can be anisotropically etched, and both the vibration plate 3 and the piezoelectric body are formed of a film.
