PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce all still picture files, independently of the reproduction speed and to allow the operator to surely access a desired still image. SOLUTION: A memory card 36 stores dynamic image files, each of which containing a plurality of still image files and the respective still image files are continuously reproduced in the reproduction mode. A monitor 40 outputs a dynamic image. When the operator instructs a normal reproduction mode, a JPEG codec 30 starts expansion processing of one still image file, in response to a vertical synchronizing signal. As a result, the respective still image files are reproduced for each one frame period. That is, the dynamic image is reproduced at a normal speed. When high-speed reproduction is instructed, the JPEG codec 30 starts the expansion processing of other still image file every time expansion processing of one still image file is finished. Thus, the dynamic image is reproduced at high speed.
