RECLINING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device which is a unitized reclining device and allows arbitrary setting of a tiltable range of a seat back and is commonly usable for seats of automobiles of different models. SOLUTION: A base plate 1 and a gear plate 2 are rotatably combined. This base plate 1 and the gear plate 2 are locked by meshing of internal teeth 21 formed on the inner periphery of the gear plate 2 and external teeth 5A of a lock gear 5 built into the base plate 1. A guide groove 11 constituting part of a rotating circumference is formed at the base plate. The gear plate 2 is projectingly provided with a projecting part 23 engaging with the guide groove 11. Further, a stopper member 12 for regulating the movement of the projecting part 23 is selectively inserted into the guide groove 11 in compliance with the decantation range of the seat back.
