The invention relates to clamps and particularly to clamps for circular section members that must be held firmly, but readily be released. In such as butt fusion machines, it is known to hold the pipe firm during turning and welding by clamp members held with screws, with as many as eight screws being involved. The invention seeks to provide an improved arrangement, an objective met by an arrangement comprising a clamp with a bottom clamp part (2) with a semi-circular recess (3), a top clamp part (4) with a mating semi-circular recess (5), a means (6, 7, 8) of detachably attaching one side of the top part to the bottom part with provision for adjustment, and there being a disconnectable toggle clamp connection (10, 11, 12) between the top part (4) and the bottom part (2) to the opposite side. |
