Foil pieces are set on 2 overlapping, separate or doubly arcuate, lengths of material, for mfr. of carrier bags with handle holes surrounded by reinforcing foils. The lengths are forwarded to a setting station where the reinforcement pieces are welded or adhered on. The mutually facing faces of the edge zones to receive the foil pieces are freed so that a part surrounding the setting zone of at least one length is folded around away from the other length, and foil pieces are set on the edge zone surfaces of both lengths, freed in this way and pred. adjoining each other. Preferably the edge piece of one length is folded around through 180 deg. in the direction away from the other length. |
