PURPOSE: An excipient is provided which can make solid dosage form for oral administration. CONSTITUTION: The excipient comprises pharmaceuticals such as albuterol, 10- 99 wt% of gelling agent, 1- 90 wt% of hydrophobic material such as cellulose ether, cellulose ester, ethyl cellulose, carboxy methyl cellulose, cellulose acetate phthalate, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose phthalate, and polyvinyl acetate, 0- 89 wt% of pharmaceutical inactive diluent such as polysaccharide, polyhydric alcohol. Thus, 10 wt% of xanthane gum, 10 wt% of locust bean gum, 10 wt% of carboxy methyl cellulose and 70 wt% of dextrose are dry-blended for 2 minutes, followed by granulation to give the excipient.
