The invention relates to a tubular percussion power tool designated as pneumatic power tool, comprising a percussion tube (1) in which a drive piston (2) and a percussion piston (3) having equal diameters are axially guided. The motion of the drive piston (2) generated by a crank mechanism is transmitted to the percussion piston (3) through a pneumatic spring in a first chamber (8), said piston cyclically striking a ram (9) or a tool. The backward motion of the percussion piston (3) rebounding from the ram (9) is supported by increasing air pressure in a third chamber (12) that is supplied with air by the drive piston (2) through a second chamber (11) and a communicating channel (10).
