The invention relates to a method for producing a catalyst, a new polymer an d a method for producing said polymer. The invention in particular relates to a method for producing a homo- and/or copolymer with an irregular particle structure, with a melt index (MFR 190/15) of between 1.3g/10 min and 10 g/10 min; a molecular-weight distribution Mw/Mn of between 3 and 30; an apparent density of between 0.05 g/cc and 0.4 g/cc; and a particle size of between 5 .mu.m and 300 .mu.m. According to said method the monomers are polymerized i n the presence of a mixed catalyst, consisting of a titanium component and an organic aluminium compound, and a regulator of relative molecular mass.
