PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy excellent in toughness without deteriorating strength and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The content of silicon in the aluminum alloy is 17 to 23 wt.%, and the average grain size of silicon crystals is <=1μm. The content of zirconium is to 7wt.%. Further, the total content of at least one kind among yttrium, lanthagum, cerium, samarium, neodymium, and misch metal is 5 to 20 wt.%, and the balance is composed of aluminum with inevitable impurities.
