PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle battery charging/discharging state controller which can control the temperature of a battery to be within a predetermined range quickly and easily. SOLUTION: The temperature of a battery 50 is monitored by a thermosensor 74. If the battery temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature, a battery ECU 68 gives a command that the temperature of the battery is to be elevated by forcible charging/discharging of the battery 50 to a control ECU 56. If the temperature is elevated by charging, an output request larger than an ordinary request is given to an engine 10, motor-generators 26 and 28 are used as a generator to charge the battery, and a current is applied to the battery. Or, if the temperature is elevated by discharging, an output request smaller than the ordinary request is given to the engine 10, the motor-generator 28 is used as a motor to consume a power, and a current is applied to the battery. The internal resistance of the battery is produced by the applied current to warm up the battery from the inside. |
